Historic England Report on the Hall
Queen Street Heritage Trust have been formed with the intention to look after the Fabric of the building and maintain it for future generations to use and enjoy.
The Hall is a Grade I Listed Building and a recent regrading by Historic England has resulted in it being listed in the top 2.5% of listed buildings in the country as such has been classified as of extreme importance to the nations heritage, making it on a par with many Cathedrals and Stately Homes throughout England.
We have included in the site some links to lodges and other Masonic bodies should you wish to explore further and we would be delighted to answer any question on matters relating to the Hall.
The Buttons on the left will take you to other areas of interest such as when lodges meet and their contact person, or their website, as well as directions on how to find us, and what facilities we can offer for Masonic and private functions.
The Phoenix Hall is located in Queen Street East, Sunderland and is the oldest purpose built Masonic Temple under the English Constitution in existence and is still in continuous use today by the very Lodge that built it.
