Below are some photographs recently unearthed of the interior of the Phoenix Hall Circ 1954/5, when the hall as you can see was in urgent need of some TLC, the then Board, engaged the services of a Painter and Decorator and in the Summer recess when the Lodges cease to meet, in he went to rejuvenate the hall.
The Board returned some several weeks later to find the hall spruced up, but someone had forgotten to tell the decorator that the Past Masters Boards were not to be touched. He had painted out every Past Masters Panel destroying 200yrs worth of history, all attempts to retrieve the situation proved unsuccesful, and that is why today the interior of the hall bears no Past Masters Boards, such as adorne so many Halls throughout the Country and indeed the world.
